Man’s body found in Burnaby, Police believe it to be a homicide

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – A man’s body has been discovered in a park near the Edmonds SkyTrain station.
RCMP say this is a homicide, but it’s too early to say what motivated the killing.
People in the neighbourhood say they often see people loitering on the dead end street next to where the body has been found.
Mounties actually discovered the body near Sandborne Avenue and Station Hill Drive after people in the neighbourhood heard shots yesterday evening.
“When members arrived on scene they began to search the area of Byrne Creek Trail. The search continued until the morning hours and police confirmed a body has now been located,” says Sergeant Derek Thibodeau who isn’t saying if in fact this man has been shot.
He also isn’t saying if the killing is targeted, only that the public is not at risk.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now on the case.
