BOWEN ISLAND (NEWS1130) – People on Bowen Island are joining with the RCMP and North Shore Rescue today to search for any evidence in the disappearance of 17-year-old Jodi Henrickson. There’s been no trace of the Squamish teen since she vanished after a house party a year ago.
The case was recently upgraded to a homicide investigation with police believing she met with foul play.
RCMP Corporal Dave Ritchie says today’s search will focus on the Seven Hills area of Bowen Island. “We’re hoping and wanting to bring closure to the file and have the family have some closure, locate Jodi and determine what happened.”
He adds volunteers from the community will be given search instructions by North Shore Rescue. The organization will be checking some of the tougher terrain on the island for possible evidence; such as Jodi’s personal effects.
Mounties say the search has not been prompted by any new or breaking information.
