VPD: Man charged with murder after shooting in Coal Harbour

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — BC Prosecutors approved charges Saturday for a fatal shooting last weekend outside a popular Vancouver restaurant.

Francois Joseph Gauthier, 51, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm. He’s currently in custody.

On April 17, 31-year-old Harpreet Singh Dhaliwal was shot in front of Cardero’s restaurant and was pronounced dead on the scene by first responders.

This shooting was the fifth homicide of the year in Vancouver.
