Two dead in Richmond daylight shooting

Richmond RCMP now confirming the shooting that happened in a busy area earlier today was a double fatal shooting. Police were called to the area of Ackroyd Rd and Minoru Blvd around 11am due to reports of a shooting.

Two people are dead after a daylight shooting in Richmond Saturday morning.

Richmond RCMP say the victims were found near Minoru Boulevard and Ackroyd Road at 11 a.m..

Officers say the victims suffered gunshot wounds, and while the investigation is in the early stages, this “does not appear to be a random act.”

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case. The identities of the victims have not been released.

RCMP did not provide more details into a possible suspect.

“IHIT is working closely with the I-Teams along with the Richmond RCMP to gather evidence,” IHIT posted to social media.
