Homicide investigators called to Burnaby

Police in Burnaby believe a man was targeted in a suspected homicide in a gravel lot in an industrial area of the city.
Mounties say the victim’s body was found near a vacant building on Norland Avenue near Laurel Street Thursday morning.
The area is a fairly busy one, located next to Highway 1.
“The victim had injuries consistent with foul play. Efforts are underway to identify the victim, but there are early indications it was a targeted incident,” reads a statement from Burnaby RCMP.
Police are still working to identify the victim.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case, the second announced in Metro Vancouver on Thursday.
