One dead after car hit by a train in Langley, B.C.

One person is dead after a car collided with a train in Langley, B.C., Sunday morning.

Cpl. Craig Van Herk with the Langley RCMP says they received several 911 calls just after 7:15 a.m. He says the collision happened at Production Way and 200 Street.

“Our officers arrived and did confirm that the train definitely collided with the car at that location.”

Police say only one person was inside the vehicle.

CityNews received several calls about the collision. A caller, Bryan Baddeley, says the vehicle was pinned under the train and was dragged for about a block.

Baddeley adds it was “absolutely shocking” to see. He explains crews were using the ‘jaws of life,’ a hydraulic rescue tool, to remove the doors and attempt to get the driver out of the vehicle.
