Surrey shooting leaves 1 person hurt

Mounties say one person has been taken to the hospital after a shooting in the Bear Creek area of Surrey Friday.

Officers were called to a home in the area of 144A Street near 70A Avenue just after 8 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot.

A short time later, just after 8:30 a.m., police say they received reports of a car on fire in the area of 125A Street and Colebrook Road. Investigators say the vehicle found matches the same description of a vehicle that was seen leaving the area where the shooting happened.

The RCMP says despite the similarities, “further investigation is required to link the two incidents.”

While investigators say the motive of this shooting remains unclear, it appears to have been targeted.

Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them at 604-599-0502.
