19-year-old identified as Burnaby homicide victim: IHIT

Homicide investigators are sharing the identity of a man who was killed in a home invasion in Burnaby on Thursday morning.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says 19-year-old Ryan Nagy died of unspecified injuries in the incident at a home on 17th Avenue between Mary Avenue and Canada Way around 7 a.m.

A woman was also found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have not indicated if any suspects are being sought or any other circumstances around the murder.

However, Sgt. Timothy Pierotti says the incident appears to be targeted.

“We’re asking that anyone who had recent contact with Mr. Nagy, contact IHIT immediately as we build a timeline of events leading up to this tragedy,” he said.
