Surrey RCMP say the public should watch out for a large number of road closures due to a power line fire.
A downed high voltage power line at the intersection of 176 Street and Fraser Highway is affecting traffic lights and traffic in all directions.
Police say they attended the incident at approximately 3:44 p.m. Saturday to assist BC Hydro. As of 5 p.m., police report the incident is still causing delays.
Fraser Highway is closed East and Westbound, starting at 170 Street to 182 Street. Highway 15 is closed North and Southbound between 80 Avenue and 69 Avenue.
RCMP say traffic has been affected in the surrounding areas and drivers can expect heavy delays.
The closure will remain in effect for an undetermined amount of time while BC Hydro works on repairs, RCMP says.
