1 arrested in North Vancouver police incident

One person has been arrested after a police incident in North Vancouver’s Upper Lynn Valley neighbourhood Thursday afternoon.

North Vancouver RCMP Const. Mansoor Sahak told CityNews that someone has been taken into custody after reports of a person with a weapon near Coleman Street and Dempsey Road.

He said the investigation is ongoing and focused on a specific residence on Demspey Road.

Callers to CityNews reported a heavy police presence in the area.

Sahak said there is no current threat to public safety, but police are still on scene. Mounties say residents can expect minor traffic disruptions.
