Vancouver Pride Parade taking place Sunday; drivers should prepare for closures and extra traffic

The Vancouver Pride Parade kicks off at noon on Sunday at Denman and Davie in the city’s West End.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to join in, and road closures are scheduled as Vancouverites come together to celebrate.

The Burrard Street Bridge has been closed in both directions for the duration of the event.

Access will be limited to residents only on Thurlow, Homer, and Drake.

No access (emergency vehicles only) will be available on Jervis, Richards, or Nelson.

The following streets will be blocked:

  • Beach Avenue from Burnaby Street to Jervis — 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;
  • Denman Street from Haro to Burnaby– 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
  • Davie Street from Thurlow to Denman — 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Pacific Boulevard from Jervis to Nelson — 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m; and
  • Pacific Boulevard from Nelson to Carrall Street — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..


The VPD suggests people take transit if they are planning to come join the event.
