Cyclist and motorcyclist hospitalized in separate Coquitlam crashes

Two people have been hospitalized after two crashes on Coquitlam roads in less than 24 hours.
Police say a motorcyclist was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Coquitlam Wednesday night.
The Coquitlam RCMP says it responded to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and the driver of a black Hyundai around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, near the intersection of Johnson Street and David Avenue.
Police say the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the Hyundai driver remained on scene.
The road was temporarily closed while crews attended and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) investigated.
“Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the motorcycle or black Hyundai before the collision, to contact our investigators. Police are also seeking any video surveillance or dash camera footage of the area of Johnson Street and David Avenue in Coquitlam between 7:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m,” the RCMP said in a release Thursday.

On Thursday morning, a person riding a bicycle was injured after a crash with the driver of a vehicle near the intersection of Brunette Avenue and Lougheed Highway.
Mounties say they assisted paramedics with the crash around 8:15 a.m.
“The cyclist was taken to hospital and the driver of the vehicle remained on scene,” police said.
The Coquitlam RCMP says the bicycle incident is also under investigation.
