BC Ferries cancels multiple Saturday morning sailings due to severe weather

Multiple sailings have been cancelled or are at risk of being cancelled Saturday morning due to severe weather forecasts for high winds and “unfavourable sea state,” BC Ferries says.
Environment Canada has issued several wind alerts for Vancouver Island and the South Coast.
The following sailings are affected:
Between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay:
Cancelled:
7:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
7:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
9:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
9:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
9:40 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
12:00 p.m. departing Swartz Bay
At risk of cancellation:
11:00 a.m. departing Swartz Bay
11:00 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
1:00 p.m. departing Swartz Bay
1:00 p.m. departing Tsawwassen
Between Tsawwassen and the Southern Gulf Islands:
Cancelled:
6:50 a.m. departing Long Harbour (Salt Spring Island)
8:55 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
10:00 a.m. departing Sturdies Bay (Galiano Island)
11:05 a.m. departing Village Bay (Mayne Island)
12:40 p.m. departing Tsawwassen
Between Tsawwassen and Duke Point:
Cancelled:
5:15 a.m. departing Duke Point
5:15 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
7:45 a.m. departing Duke Point
7:45 a.m. departing Tsawwassen
Between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay:
Cancelled:
6:15 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
6:15 a.m. departing Departure Bay
8:25 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
8:25 a.m. departing Departure Bay
At risk of cancellation:
10:40 a.m. departing Departure Bay
10:40 a.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
1:00 p.m. departing Departure Bay
1:00 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
Several other routes may see cancellations, so the service advises passengers to check current conditions before heading to the terminal.
BC Ferries says if you have a booking on one of the cancelled sailings, customer service will contact you to advise whether or not they can accommodate you on later sailings or if your booking needs to be cancelled.
