About Terry
Terry has served in a leadership role in newsrooms across B.C., working in Trail, Kelowna, at CityNews Vancouver, and then to a long career at CKNW, becoming a trusted voice familiar to thousands of British Columbians.
As CKNW's News and Sports Director, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to hire and help mentor a generation of B.C. journalists.
And as Manager of Radio News at Global BC, he worked to build a cohesive TV/Radio/Web news gathering team, while anchoring p.m. drive.
Terry created the coverage plans, and then anchored, some of the major events in B.C. history, including the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup riot, major court cases, federal, provincial and civic elections, along with major breaking news such as natural disasters, like devastating wind storms.
Terry is a multiple RTDNA winner, and lead the 2019 CKNW/Global team to a 2019 Jack Webster Breaking News award for "December Windstorm."
Terry joined CityNews Vancouver in November 2020 as a Morning Show Anchor and Managing Editor. He became News Director of CityNews 1130 in June 2023.
When he's not working, Terry is most likely out for a long walk with his wife, or looking to get lost in an old movie.
