VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Keep an eye out for faux-blow-hard Stephen Colbert at the Olympic Oval in Richmond and near Science World in Vancouver today. He will be sticking up for truth, justice and the American way while cheering on the U.S. speedskating team.
It’s part of Colbert’s “Skate Expectations: Kicking Ice and Taking Donations on the Slippery Slope Down the Icy Path to the Frozen Road up to Vancouver 2010.” Mitch Drew — a real syrup-sucking Canadian patriot and “icehole” — has written a song to welcome Colbert called “An American at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.” He’s challenged Colbert to make it his Olympic anthem.
Colbert will be taping segments for his show in the park beside Science World this morning and tomorrow. Already there are thousands of people waiting to see the Comedy Central host.
