Plenty of Easter fun happening this weekend

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s the first weekend of spring with plenty of things happening around town. The Easter Bunny is making an appearance at the Bunny Hop skate at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre in Burnaby on Saturday. The ice event also includes face painting, crafts and games.
The Ripple Effect is on at the Fraser River Discovery Centre in New Westminster. Saturday will celebrate an environmental swimmer who swam the length of the Fraser to raise awareness about the body of water.
You could soak in all the native trees during a walk in the woods with ‘Tree Buddies’ on Saturday. Bring the kids to Burnaby Lake Regional Park from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is required.
It’s time to enjoy an “Old Fashioned Family Easter Breakfast” Saturday in Vancouver. The West Point Grey Community Centre will also have entertainment, children’s crafts and an Easter egg hunt starting at 10 a.m. Admission is $6.
Lastly, don’t forget about Earth Hour. On Saturday at 8:30 p.m. millions of people around the world will turn off the lights for one hour, enjoying some quiet time by candlelight.
