Restaurant loyalty programs making a comeback

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – From Air Miles to restaurant rewards, News1130 investigated the return of the loyalty card, as a measure of securing your business.
A recent report in Maclean’s Magazine confirms thanks to last year’s recession, restaurants are following the airline industry’s lead, using rewards and loyalty programs to help reverse a decline in business. That drop was about three per cent across North America.
It’s not quite something for nothing, but that ‘Buy 9 get free’ card does have an appeal, but just not for everyone. Some people we spoke with said they usually don’t fall for the marketing ploy; instead try to play the part of a minimalist.
