VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Two Hell’s Angels members have had their bikes impounded after Mounties in a helicopter spotted two motorcycles speeding from Langley to Vancouver on Wednesday.
Police say the two men passed their unmarked car travelling on Highway 1 near 200th St. The bikers were going twice the speed limit in an 80 km/hour construction zone. They rode side-by-side moving dangerously from lane to lane and passing on shoulders.
The pair took an exit on 1st Ave and eventually stopped near the Hell’s Angels’ Nomad Chapter clubhouse in Burnaby, where police interfered. Both men had their motorcycles seized and were slapped with speeding tickets.
Under the new legislation, drivers going at more than 40 km/hour over the speed limit risk having their vehicle impounded for seven days, in addition to fines and penalty points on their driver’s license.
