Highway 20 to Bella Coola reopens

BELLA COOLA (NEWS1130) – Starting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23rd, drivers will have complete access along Highway 20. There will be single lane traffic and minimal delays along some parts of the route.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond says crews have been working hard to reopen the highway. “Although we have the road open, there is more work to be done on the Highway 20 route to restore it to the pre-flood condition.” There’s no word on how long it will take to finish the project.
There could be 30 minute wait times, and drivers are being advised to obey speed limits in the area.
Highway 20 leading into Bella Coola was closed September 25th.
