VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Students at Gladstone Secondary and their parents can breathe a collective sigh of relief. The lockdown that had the school shut down earlier this afternoon has been lifted and the children that were held up inside were re-united with their parents outside the school.
Vancouver police initiated a “code red” lockdown at 2:35 p.m. after reports of a possible armed intruder. At around 3:15 p.m., police began releasing students from the school at Vanness and Gladstone. Some grade 7 students were in the school writing the mini school placement tests, and were released first.
Police say no suspicious person was found, and there was no indication of any weapons involved at any time.
