VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Defenseman Sami Salo had his first full Canucks practice with teammates today since he tore an Achilles tendon while playing floorball in Finland last July. There is no firm timeline for Salo’s return. At the time of the injury, an early 2011 return was predicted.
Defenseman Andrew Alberts practised today with a black left eye which he received from a punch to the face from Philadephia’s Jody Shelley in the Canucks 6-2 victory over the Flyers last night and winger Mason Raymond also skated today.
Raymond, who fractured a thumb December 8th against Anaheim, could return Friday when the Canucks visit the Dallas Stars. Cory Schneider is expected to start in goal. Roberto Luongo is in Florida where his wife Gina gave birth to a baby boy today.
