BC Hydro goes mobile

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The next time the power goes out, you can find out what’s happening on your smartphone.
Greg Stanway with BC Hydro says they’re launching a mobile-friendly version of their website. “When the power goes off, the first thing people do is reach for their cell phone, and usually use it as a flash light. This new mobile site will actually allow people to get up-to-date information about their outage in real time.”
BC Hydro is one of the first utility companies in Canada to make a move like this.
