VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The BC Pharmacy Association wants you to start the new year off right by bringing unused medications back to pharmacies instead of throwing them in the trash.
Metro Vancouver Director Greg Moore says, “Our hope is that, by working with the region’s pharmacists, we will make it easier for people to safely dispose of these potentially harmful medications.”
Unused medications can pose a significant health, safety and environmental hazard when they are improperly stored or disposed of. More than 20 pharmacies across Metro Vancouver will accept unused or expired medication at no cost.
