Website registered before Liberal cat membership revealed

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A website called ‘Kitties4Christy‘ has popped up, the same day it was revealed a cat had been signed up for a Liberal membership. Clark’s camp says they have nothing to do with it.
The site shows cat pictures, including one with Liberal leadership candidate George Abbott that says “The Kitties are coming. We’re watching you, George”. It also has an online store and Twitter feed.
Shane Mills with Clark’s campaign doesn’t know who put it up. “Clearly it’s not a Christy supporter, because it’s not anything that benefits our campaign. It’s interesting that someone created a website several days before the story broke. So there is something there.”
Mills says whoever put it together took extra steps to protect their identity. “Our tech guys have looked at it. And someone has gone out of their way to hide their identity. They registered with an Arizona company, and then the Arizona company registered with Go Daddy to create the website.”
The site was registered on February 1st.
Olympia the cat, which is owned by a senior member of Christy Clark’s campaign team, was apparently signed up for the membership as a joke.
After learning of the false membership, Abbott called for the party to bring in stricter standards for verifying new members.
