Brother of missing woman wants province to expand inquiry

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The brother of one of Robert Pickton’s murder victims Ernie Crey says the focus of the BC’s missing women inquiry is too narrow and he wants the next premier to expand it.

Inquiry commissioner Wally Oppal agrees and is asking the province to make things less formal so they can hear from more people on issues like the Highway of Tears.

Crey says Christy Clark’s campaign slogan was Families First, so it would be appropriate if her first act as premier was to grant their request.

“Many of these women had families of their own, had children…. I don’t think she should hesitate. I think she should just step forward and take the lead on this particular issue.”

Crey’s younger sister Dawn’s DNA was found on Pickton’s farm in 2004.
