Canucks getting healthier on the blueline

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks are getting healthier as they get set to embark on a four-game road trip that starts Wednesday in Detroit against the Red Wings.

Defenceman Kevin Bieksa should be back in the line-up, he has missed 15 games with a broken foot. It’s the first time, in a long time that Vancouver would have seven healthy defenceman.

Winger Tanner Glass suffered a rib injury in practice on March 9th.  He is expected to make the trip and resume practicing, something he hasn’t done in over a week.

Meantime, there is no update on the status of Manny Maholtra.  He dropped by Rogers Arena on Saturday morning to see his teammates, thanking them for their thoughts and prayers.

Malhotra had surgery last Wednesday after taking a puck in the eye in a game against the Colorado Avalanche.  There is still no time-line as to when he may return.

Defencemen Andrew Alberts (wrist) and Alex Edler (back) won’t be anytime soon but the two
will skate together for the next 10 days while the team is on the road.  Edler could be back practicing with the team upon its return at the end of March.
