VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – The latest attempt to recall a Liberal MLA over the HST has failed. Elections BC says the effort to oust Comox Valley MLA Don McRae failed to get enough signatures.
Over 19,000 signatures were required for the recall to go through.
Two recalls are currently underway in the Kamloops-North Thompson and Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows electoral districts.
Last month, organizers of a planned recall against Donna Barnett in her riding of Cariboo-Chilcotin cancelled the effort before it began. Canvassers in the Victoria area also failed to collect enough signatures to unseat Minister Ida Chong in her riding of Oak Bay-Gordon Head.
