VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s only March, but you can already pick the first ride you’re going to try at Playland this year. “The Star Flyer” is a mix of the iconic swing ride and the “Hellevator.”
Laura Ballance with the PNE spoke live on the News1130 Morning Show and says it isn’t for everyone. “If you can imagine being lifted up on a swing higher than the Hellevator. The ride actually moves you two and a half meters per second on the ascent and descent.”
She says it will be the tallest ride they have ever had at Playland and will have one of the best views in the city.
The 20-storey, $2 million ride can reach speeds of up to 70 kilometres per hour.
It opens in July and is free with your admission.
