BOSTON, MASS (NEWS1130) – The Whitecaps try to snap a nine game winless streak as they take on the New England Revolution tomorrow in Major League Soccer action.
Vancouver enters the game with a 1-4-5 record and have not won a game since opening night when they beat Toronto FC on March 19th. Whitecaps coach Teitur Thordarson thinks one of the reasons his team is struggling is because of the schedule; his team has now played seven games in the last 22 days.
“The reason why we’ve been struggling is not tactics,” he says. “It’s more about energy. We are struggling to refuel the group.”
The Revolution have also had a turbulent start to the campaign, with New England having won just one league match in their last seven contests.
The Whitecaps will be without striker Atiba Harris (knee) and midfielders John Thorrington (calf) and Michael Nanchoff (groin) for this weekend’s game in New England. Forward Eric Hassli doubtful for tomorrow’s game due to a hamstring injury
Game time is 4:30 p.m.
