Johnny Canuck is ready for battle

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – He’s not your average hockey-playing, bruin-ruining lumberjack. He also has a Yankee-thwarting past.
Johnny Canuck was created as the national personification of the Great White North — strong, free and kind of hairy.
As early as 1869, Johnny was portrayed as habitant, logger, rancher, and soldier. He is wholesome, simple-minded and has often resisted the bullying of his older cousin Uncle Sam. As an action and comic hero, he fought Nazis, met Hitler and almost single-handedly ended the Second World War. In the 70’s he fought the world’s evils as the superhero Captain Canuck.
Now he could be elevated to überhero as a modern day bear hunter. Johnny is ready for tonight!
