VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back in town after an 0-3 road trip that saw the team lose in Kansas City and twice in Toronto.
It’s been a tough time for Major League Soccer’s expansion team as the ‘Caps lost the Canadian title and CONCACAF Champions League berth on Saturday in Toronto.
The coaching change made on May 30th hasn’t worked out as expected. That’s when Teitur Thordarson was let go in favour of Director of Soccer Operations Tommy Soehn who has a record of 1-4-2 since he took over.
Vancouver now has a MLS worst record of 2-8-8.
You can expect changes on that Whitecaps roster in the 2nd half of the season.
July 15th is when the international transfer window opens and Vancouver is expected to be active. They have two roster spots open and the team has still not made defender Mouloud Akloul’s departure official.
The ‘Caps can have up to 10 international players on their roster and with Akloul out, the team is down to seven. Vancouver’s next game is Wednesday at home against the Columbus Crew.
