VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The laser shows at HR MacMillan Space Centre will soon be no more after a 30-year run, but there is still a chance to catch the display.
Rob Appleton with the centre says after Christmas break the shows will return on weekends until Jan. 28
“Friday nights it will be Radiohead, followed by Zeppelin, and then the late show is Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side of the Moon.’ Then Saturday nights is Pink Floyd ‘The Wall’ and Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side,'” Appleton says.
With the high cost of maintaining the lasers, he says they will now be able to focus more on other programs.
“We have a program called Overnight Adventures, and that’s where cub scouts groups or brownie groups come in and they do a bunch of astronomy programming and part of that includes a planetarium show in the planetarium theatre, and then they stay overnight,” he explains.
