Search for missing hikers in Pemberton resumes

PEMBERTON (NEWS1130) – RCMP are resuming the search for two hikers who went missing in the Pemberton area more than 18 months ago.
Jonathan Jette and Rachael Bagnall, both from Vancouver, did not return from a multiple day hike in September 2010.
Despite numerous searches, and the discovery of their car and a pair of sunglasses, they were never found.
The Whistler Question’s Eric MacKenzie is following this story, and says the families still holds hope the pair may be alive.
“I spoke with Lise Grenier, who is Mr. Jette’s mother, earlier this week, and she describes her life is like a very bad dream, since her son went missing. She says a part of her believes that Jonathon and Rachel are still on the mountain and another part of her believes that they’re not there.”
RCMP say there is no new evidence in the case, but are continuing the search in order to give the families closure. “They launched a search last year in the summer based upon some suspicious bird activity in that area, but at this time there is no new evidence,” says MacKenzie.
