WINNIPEG – Rare bird alert — a falcon has flown the coop!
A company from Victoria doing work in Winnipeg says one of its falcons has gone AWOL.
Pacific-Northwest Raptors uses them for bird control at the Brady Landfill.
Spokesman Darryl Klippenstein says the falcon may appear friendly, but people should be cautious about approaching it.
Klippenstein describes the bird as cream-coloured with brown speckling on his chest.
And this would be the dead give-away should the falcon try blending in with the crowd — he’s got a pair of leather straps hanging from his ankles.
