Husband of Coquitlam mother gets life for murder

By

COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – Almost a year to the day, family members said an official goodbye to Lancy Hu of Coquitlam as her husband was sentenced for her murder.

James Mou pled guilty earlier this week.

The mother of two had mysteriously disappeared in July of last year. Her husband became a suspect after changing his version of her disappearance three times.

A first-degree murder charge was laid shortly after her body was found stuffed in a suitcase floating in the Fraser River.

Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team considers this case a success, in that it concluded with a guilty plea but “at the end of the day we have two children that are without both their mom and dad, and our hearts go out to the families.”

Mou has been given a life sentence with no chance of parole for 14 years.
