Final stop Florida for Burnaby Fire Captain

FLORIDA (NEWS1130) – A Burnaby Fire Captain continues his fundraising ride across the southern United States.
Rudy Pospisil is working to raise money to fight cancer by cycling through 30 countries, it’s the Thirty4Three Firefighter Global Cyclist For Charity.
Rudy was diagnosed about a decade ago, but he survived and now he’s giving back by trying to help others facing a similar diagnosis.
He’s now in Florida and Rudy says this state has its own issues. “There are long bridges built over top of swamp and there are no bike lanes so you just wait for an opportunity and do your best to get across.”
Rudy says you can do anything you set your mind to. “Whether you’re sick or want to do a ride like me, it’s mostly inspiration so you set your mind and your dreams can come true.”
And Rudy can now see the end sight with just about a week to go. When he finally dumps the water and sand into the Atlantic he’s been carrying from the Pacific there will be relief for Rudy, but he’s an adventurer and says even though you are glad something like this is over, you crave more. So Rudy will return to work and training in Burnaby as he plans his next leg across the Atlantic and through Portugal, Spain, Italy and France.
