SURREY (NEWS1130) – Did you miss the deadline to sign up for the special Port Mann Bridge deal because you couldn’t get through?
The company handing out the vehicle decals is still dealing with frustrated people, looking for their 20 free trips, but TreO says it will not honour or extend the promotion to those who didn’t get their information in on time.
Max Logan is with the Highway One Improvement Project and says drivers had since September to sign up.
“We had every single one of our customer service representatives working on Friday. Friday alone we registered close to 90,000 vehicles, and customer services representatives stayed late so anyone who stayed on the phone was still able to get the promotion.”
Since last week, News1130 has been hearing from a number of people who couldn’t sign up for TreO’s decal before the deadline. The company says the complaints are still coming in.
Tina Chahal says she tried on a number of occasions to sign up last week without luck. She says when she finally called TreO over the weekend, she was told the deadline had passed and she had missed out.
She says the message was blunt. “Sorry, out of luck, is pretty much what I got told. Not getting the deal.”
Chahal is now waiting to hear from a manager and is still hoping to get the introductory offer. “To be a customer service oriented organization, my expectation was a better response which I didn’t get.”
There were a lot of people who tried to get their decal just before the deadline. TreO says it processed more than 61,000 registrations on Friday.
