House in the ‘burbs wins over downtown condo: survey

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Which is better: a luxury downtown condominium or a big house in the suburbs?
A Mustel Group poll done for local real estate search engine REW.ca asked renters and property owners what kind of home they would buy if they had a million dollars to spend. It turns out 34 per cent would take the house, compared to just 12 per cent opting for the deluxe apartment in the sky.
The survey also found 20 per cent would buy a small detached house, while 10 per cent would choose a townhouse or duplex in the city.
Nearly a quarter say “none of the above’; they’d rather take the cash and keep on renting.
