BC Ferries passenger falls from vessel

TSAWWASSEN (NEWS1130) – A woman is expected to be okay after she fell from a BC Ferry this morning.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. near the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal.

Deborah Marshall with BC Ferries says it happened as the Spirit of Vancouver Island was pulling into the terminal. “Our crews quickly launched our rescue boat and retrieved the woman from the water.”

“The rescue boat and the woman were brought back on-board the ship and the ship proceeded into dock,” she adds.

The Coast Guard says she wasn’t in the water for very long.
