Lions sign former Cowboys quarterback

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) –  The BC Lions continue to stock the roster for June’s training camp, signing former NFL quarterback Rudy Carpenter.

Carpenter, an Arizona State product, spent the last four years on the roster of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys.

Carpenter put up over 10,000 passing yards with 81 touchdowns in his college career with the Sun Devils, winning a  PAC 10 championship in 2007.

Carpenter’s signing gives the Lions four quarterbacks for camp in Kamloops, with one more to be added from free agent camps in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Surrey this month. The California native joins Travis Lulay, Thomas DeMarco, and Jarrett Brown on BC’s pivot depth chart.

Also with the Lions, owner David Braley tells News1130 Sports that Lions season tickets sales are at about the same pace as last season.

Lions open training camp June 2nd at Kamloops’ Thompson Rivers University.
