Liberals criticize conflicting NDP Kinder Morgan statements

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The NDP’s stance on Kinder Morgan is up for new scrutiny after apparently conflicting statements in the media, and the BC Liberals are all over it.

This week, Adrian Dix came out against making Port Metro Vancouver a major oil exporter. But in an interview with Black Press, New Democrat John Horgan seems to have left Deltaport an option for Kinder Morgan.

The party is now saying otherwise.

BC Liberal Terry Lake is critical.  “If you are looking after your shareholders, why would you consider investing in British Columbia under an NDP government when the rules keep changing?”

“It’s simply not fair, it’s not transparent, and it’s not consistent,” he maintains.

Lake argues this leaves investor confidence shaken. “It’s very difficult to sort out any kind of consistent position that the NDP is taking because it changes week to week and now day to day.”

Prior to this week’s     position, Dix had said he would wait until Kinder Morgan’s formal application before taking a stance.
