Lawsuit against Groupon goes national

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A class action lawsuit against Group-on has now gone national.  The people behind it claim the company sold Daily Deal vouchers which had expiry dates when they shouldn’t have.

People still want to use the coupons, at least at their face value.

Groupon has agreed to pay up to $535,000 to cover those costs.

Earlier this year, the company dished out $8.5 million to settle a similar class-action lawsuit in the US.  As part of that settlement, Groupon agreed not to sell more than 10 per cent of its daily deals with an expiration of less than 30 days after the issue date.
