VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – The Langley Thunder face elimination when they visit Bear Mountain Arena in Victoria in game six of the Western Lacrosse Association final tonight. The Victoria Shamrocks lead the two-time defending WLA champions 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.
Langley, the two-time reigning WLA champions, were the top seeds from the regular season, while Victoria was second. The opponent in the Mann Cup will be the Ontario champion.
Victoria, which hasn’t won the title in eight years put the Thunder on the brink with Sunday’s 11-8 victory in Langley. A win for the Shamrocks would put them into their eighth Canadian championship.
If a Game 7 is required, it goes Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
