VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s the day nearly every Canucks fan has been waiting for — game tickets are now on sale.
Kingsley Bailey with Vancouver Ticket says the average price for most games this season will be around $125 to $150.
Bailey believes the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Nov. 2, which is when the club will retire Pavel Bure’s jersey, will likely set you back quite a bit.
“Imagine, and this is only a guesstimate, that the prices could hover, minimum I would say maybe $150 to $200 just to get in. This is a big game and people want to say they were there.”
He says the club is doing the right things to make last season’s lockout a distant memory.
“I hand it to the organization, they know exactly what to do, those marketing guys in there. Even though there was a lockout last year, they’re getting the fans back in droves as quickly as possible.”
The team’s Chief Operating Officer Victor de Bonis says ticket prices will be consistent with last season. “Tickets start at $40 per seat for families of four. We’re trying to be as affordable as we can.”
“We’re hopeful our sell out streak will continue, we feel very confident and optimistic that it will. We’ve been sold out for almost eight seasons, so we’re excited to keep that streak going,” he adds.
The first game of the season is October 3rd against the San Jose Sharks. The first regular season home game is October 5th against the Oilers.
