NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS1130) – A New Westminster courtroom has heard heart-breaking testimony from two men who lost their loved ones in a hit-and-run on the Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam more than two years ago.

Dan Reaveley, his wife, and two friends had just seen the Pathfinder crash into a meridian late at night. They went to go help the two people inside, Paulo Calimbahin and his girlfriend Lorraine Cruz.

Reaveley was returning to the truck he had been in when he heard a sound. He yelled his wife’s name, ran over, held her, and tried to wake her up. He also noticed Lorraine Cruz on the ground nearby, both women were killed.

Calimbahin testified earlier in the day.

Cory Sater is accused of a number of counts including failure to stop and impaired driving causing death.
