Slippery Lower Mainland roads due to freezing rain

By

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – Freezing drizzle is sticking to the roads, turning them into sheets of ice all over the Lower Mainland.

In some stretches there’s slush; in other places, there’s black ice. But no matter where you were in the region this morning, you had to deal with slippery conditions.

In Langley, on Highway 1 near 232nd Street, cars have been skidding after just a light tap on the brakes.

There have been several crashes, especially along Highway 1 through Burnaby and Coquitlam. There have also been a few accidents on Burnaby Mountain.
