Boil water advisory issued in Aldergrove

By

SURREY(NEWS1130) – A boil water advisory has been issued in Aldergrove.

Fraser Health and the Township of Langley are advising people there to boil their drinking water for at least one minute before drinking.

A low level of coliform bacteria was detected at a neighbourhood water sampling point.

More sampling and testing is currently being conducted in the system’s water pipes.

Dr. Victoria Lee with Fraser Health says the water should be brought to a rapid, rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, including drinking, making infant formula and juices, cooking, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice.

The boundaries of the area affected include:

East of 260th Street and West of 276th Street
North of 24th Avenue and South of 36th Avenue

Homes and businesses in the City of Langley and other water systems managed Langley Township are not affected.

If you have any questions, you’re asked to contact the Township of Langley at (604) 532 – 7300 from 8:3am to 4:30pm daily until further notice.

Health information about illnesses related to contaminated water is available on HealthLink BC’s website.

Fraser Health says people concerned about their personal health can speak with a HealthLink BC nurse by calling 8-1-1, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
