LANGLEY (NEWS1130) – It’s now been one month since teachers in BC began their full-scale strike, and it isn’t known what will happen once September rolls around.
The Langley Teachers’ Association is hosting a meeting this evening on why the strike is continuing.
President Gail Chaddock-Costello says panelists will include a representative from the BC Federation of Labour, one from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the BCTF, and NDP MLA David Eby.
Costello says she invited Education Minister Peter Fassbender and the two local Liberal MLAs, but they all said they were unable to attend.
She says this is an opportunity to ask questions and get information.
“We’re not going to be able to answer everybody’s questions, we can give possible scenarios, people can give their point of view on the budget,” she explains.
The meeting starts at 7:00 at the Langley Golf and Banquet Centre.
