IKEA strike is over

RICHMOND(NEWS1130)-Unionized workers at the IKEA in Richmond are heading back to work.
The 17-month long strike is now over.
The company and union have reached a 10-year deal with the help of mediator Vince Ready.
Workers will get increased wages and benefits,annual salary increases, better health care among other things.
The IKEA Richmond store will return to full operations in mid-December.
IKEA Canada says Ready recognized that the company’s offer was fair and generous.
“He has ruled that all employees who crossed the picket line to perform their own jobs during the strike shall remain employed at IKEA Richmond,” according to a statement.
The company says the deal secures the long term success of the store including operational changes and flexibility allowing improvement of the overall performance of the store.
