Man charged in Surrey stabbing death

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a stabbing in Surrey back in June.

The stabbing happened on 65B Avenue at 131 Street. Mandepaak “Deepak” Chahal, 22, was taken to the hospital, but died of his injuries.

Sukhpreet “Jesse” Shergill, 20, was arrested yesterday. He makes his first court appearance today,

“We would like to extent our condolences once again to Deepak’s family and thank both the Surrey RCMP and the community of Newton for assisting us in this investigation.” said Sgt. Adam MacIntosh of IHIT.
